Once again life has a way of getting in the way of me staying on top of this blog. Our family has had a rough 2010 so far. Beginning on the morning of Christmas 2009, we received a phone call that my father had three heart attacks within an one hour time span. My father, Michael Ryan, had been battling heart disease since August 2000. We all knew his heart would never get better but we had hoped medical technology would intervene and extend his time on this earth. In a way it had…several pace makers, defibrillators, and medicines helped him along his way. Unfortunately 12/25/2009 was our wake-up call that time may be running out. Then on Sunday, March 7th my father (Erin’s granddad) passed on. Fortunately Erin saw her granddad one last time in February. Dad was too weak to do all the fun things the kids had come to expect, but Erin was gracious to share her Busby books with him and they had a few quiet moments together.
A day didn’t go by that my father didn’t think of Erin (and of course his other grandchildren). Dad always worried about Erin and was concerned about what type of life she would live. Alan and I started this blog specifically to keep our family posted about Erin. He regularly checked the blog and if I had not posted an update, I promptly got a phone call. Now Dad is in heaven able to watch over his granddaughter constantly. Erin knows she has a new guardian angel looking after her. She is grateful for hew new angel but would prefer to have her granddad back.

Im so sorry about your dad. Hope Erin is well xx
Our deep sympathy for all of you at this sad time.
Hi Suzanne – I’ve been thinking about you a lot lately and I’m glad I kept an old email that had this blog address in it. I am sooo sorry about your dad. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. You have had such a rough time lately. We pray for God to pour out His heart upon you and grant you confort and peace. May He richly bless you, Erin, Alan and your boys. Laurie
