On Friday night I took my daughter Miranda, who is 10 years old, to a movie. We went to the concession, got some treats (some of which Miranda was carrying), and then headed toward our theatre. The cinema is one of those megaplexes with 18 theatres, and ours happened to be at the far end, so we had a bit of a ways to go. Farewell San Diego - you were FABULOUS. So, we got back earlier this week from our Spring Break jaunt. It was really, really great, even though it coincided with my daughter Miranda having her biggest, most spectacular flare-up of fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva in years (oy). We left for California on March 11, and had a smooth and uneventful flight there. At that time, Miranda had a smallish-upper back flare-up which had been rumbling along for a couple of weeks; nothing to be alarmed about, and pain well-controlled by Celebrex. It's been a while since I've done a "what Miranda's been up to lately" post, so... Why not today? As of Friday afternoon, Miranda and her brother Owen have been on Spring Break from school. In our neck of the woods that's a 2 week vacation (about which I grumble, but that's another story). And, both are VERY excited about our upcoming trip to: drumroll please... San Diego! Last week I attended my first "in person" board meeting of the International FOP Association. I had been looking forward to this trip, and it didn't disappoint... It all started on Thursday, February 19, when I boarded a plane to fly to first Toronto, and then Philadelphia. I have to say, I enjoyed that flight! Several hours, all to myself to watch movies and relax. Bliss. Ahem...
